Why Print Your Photos

PRINT Matters.

Lost memories are expensive…

Picture this…(pardon the intentional pun and stick with us):

It’s 2040. You just found that CD you had in a drawer.  Right beside a bunch of old cell phones that are no longer active and can’t be charged.  Your virtual computer no longer has a DVD drive since in 2019 they were totally phased out.  Your 1st  grandchild is sitting on your lap and asks to see pictures of their Mom and Dad- and all you have to show them is this piece of round plastic that is pretty much worthless.  Not to mention dusty and scratched from all those old cellphones moving around every time you opened that drawer.

I guess that makes you one of the “most photographed generation that doesn’t have a picture in 20 years”.  Printed pictures weren’t a priority. It just didn’t seem that important. Every phone had a camera with lots of apps that would certainly be around forever.

Print what you want to preserve.

When we started Cara Jonas Photography we made a very conscious decision to be a full-service Cincinnati Photography studio.  To us that meant the session experience, customer service, and printed portraits were going to be our highest priorities.  If you are going to take the time to visit our studio and have a personalized session that you talk about and remember forever, we believe you should have a printed piece of art that brings back those memories every time you view it.

We understand that not everyone shares that passion.  Maybe you still need some convincing.  Please take a moment and consider these facts:

  • 53% of consumers haven’t printed a photo in more than 12 months, 70% don’t have photo albums, and 42% no longer print photos at all.
  • 42% of people between the ages of 30 and 44 will likely look back and wonder where photos of their childhood, holiday get-together’s, relatives and friends have gone decades from now? Why? They no longer print photographs or create photo albums. In fact, 67% store their photos solely on a computer or phone.
  • Technology is changing so fast that many photographs taken only 5-6 years ago are stored on devices that are no longer supported. In 5 years or less, your DVD is going to be obsolete as will your USB drives.  Many computers are already configured without CD/DVD drives.
  • Less that 1 out of 100,000 photographs taken today actually ends up being a printed photograph
  • Every TWO MINUTES we take the same number of photos that were taken in the entire nineteenth century.
  • 38% of camera owners will LOSE their photos–irretrievably lose their photos–because they failed to back up their digital photos or print them.
  • When there is a fire, what’s the first thing you grab?
  • What will you use to remember your parents and grandparents when they are gone?

Research Your Photographer

Even if you decide Cara Jonas Photography isn’t right for you, we hope you’ll find a Cincinnati Photography partner that shares our passion for printed work.  Here’s a few questions to guide you through:

  • Does the photographer offer print art?
  • Can the photographer show you examples of their print art you can review?
  • Does the photographer use quality paper?
  • Can the photographer offer quality options within your price range?
  • Can the photographer show you how the art would look in your very own home?

If you do the right research, you’ll be glad you made the effort. The perfect photographer will also be glad that you are interested in quality work and print art. Together, you and your photographer can create beautiful pieces for your home and for your family.
